  • KDA Animal Health Boards to Meet Sept. 13

    Two advisory boards which serve to advise the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Animal Health will meet from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Kansas State Fair. The Kansas Board of Animal Health and the Pet Animal Advisory Board will meet jointly for this regularly scheduled board meeting.
  • KDA Announces Additional Counties Eligible for State Drought Assistance Initiative

    The Division of Conservation at the Kansas Department of Agriculture is pleased to announce additional counties are now eligible for funds to assist landowners with their efforts to mitigate the impact of drought. The Livestock Water Supply Financial Assistance Initiative provides financial assistance for livestock water supply wells, pipeline, pumps and tanks installed after June 1, 2018.
  • KDA Participates in Trade Mission to Argentina

    In late July, the Kansas Department of Agriculture participated in a trade mission to Argentina, where the team attended the La Rural 2018 Exhibition. La Rural has become the most prominent livestock show in Argentina, with more than one million people in attendance.
  • KDA Offers Focus on Food Safety Seminars in Chinese

    The Kansas Department of Agriculture’s food safety and lodging program has partnered with the K-State Confucius Institute to offer two Focus on Food Safety seminars in Mandarin Chinese. The first seminar will be held at the KDA office in Manhattan, 1320 Research Park Dr., on August 27 from 2:00–3:30 p.m. The second seminar will be held at Bo Lings Products, 9000 Bond St., Overland Park, on August 29 from 2:00–3:30 p.m.
  • Taiwan Agricultural Youth Exchange Program Accepting Applications

    The 2018 Taiwan Agricultural Youth Exchange Program is currently accepting applications from high school seniors or college freshmen who are passionate about agriculture and are interested in representing Kansas in a week-long exchange program October 28 through November 4, 2018.

    The Republican River Compact Administration (RRCA) will hold its 58th annual meeting at 10:00 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018. The meeting will be hosted by the Kansas Department of Agriculture at 1320 Research Park Drive in Manhattan, Kansas.
  • State Conservation Commission Meeting August 13

    The State Conservation Commission will meet on Monday, August 13, 2018. The meeting will take place at approximately 10:30 a.m. or immediately following the joint SCC/KACD meeting at the NRCS Hays Area Office, 3012 Broadway in Hays. The meeting is open to the public.
