The Kansas Department of Agriculture is seeking individuals to participate in Petfood Forum China in Shanghai, China, from August 21-27, 2017. This conference will allow the representatives to explore export opportunities, conduct market research, and begin to establish a network of contacts to help Kansas small businesses in the pet food and pet care market.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture pesticide and fertilizer program recently received a grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Bureau of Air to aid in the disposal of orphaned pesticide products. The grant was made possible by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7. The grant extends over a two-year period for a total of $75,000.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture is seeking individuals to participate in an agricultural trade mission to Argentina. Tentatively, the mission will take place July 24-30, 2017. The goal of this mission is to provide an opportunity for Kansas purebred beef cattle producers and allied industry to develop relationships with livestock producers in Argentina to increase market opportunities for U.S. and Kansas beef genetics.

In March 2017, the Kansas Department of Agriculture, in partnership with the Kansas Corn Commission, sponsored an agricultural trade mission to Mexico to expand market opportunities in corn, distiller’s grains and ethanol.
