    The 2019 Taiwan Agricultural Youth Exchange Program is currently accepting applications from high school seniors or college freshmen who are passionate about agriculture and are interested in representing Kansas in a week-long exchange program October 26 through November 3, 2019.
  • KDA Announces State Noxious Weed Advisory Committee

    The Kansas Department of Agriculture has announced the members of the State Noxious Weed Advisory Committee. The committee was established this summer following the passage of HB 2583 which made revising the noxious weed list a regulatory instead of legislative process and established the advisory committee to assist the Kansas Secretary of Agriculture in, among other duties, determining which plant species will be on the list.
  • Appeal Period Now Open for Proposed Floodplain Map for Reno County

    Aug 06, 2019
    A proposed Flood Insurance Rate Map update for portions of Reno County — including the cities of Hutchinson, Nickerson, South Hutchinson and Willowbrook — was released for public review in April 2018.
  • Agriculture Education Students Awarded Kansas Agriculture Skills and Competencies Certificates

    Twenty-six students from six schools in Kansas have been awarded the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Kansas Agriculture Skills and Competencies Certificate. Of these, 22 were awarded the general certificate, two were awarded the animal science certificate and two were awarded the plant systems certificate.

The ATACs offer technical advice and information about specific commodities and products.
