Employee Award & Recognition Program

KDA has implemented two programs to provide monetary awards to staff for exemplary work
performance.

1. The Employee Award and Recognition Program is for all benefits eligible KDA staff members to award distinguished accomplishments, meritorious service or innovation.

  • The Secretary retains total discretion to make an award but may solicit recommendations from employees to assist in determining awards.  The request for recommendations will be sent by email.
  • These awards are not provided on a fixed basis, are based on availability of funds and can be in any amount up to $3,500 per employee per fiscal year.
  • Staff given awards and staff who recommend an awardee will be notified by written correspondence.

2. The Employee of the Quarter program is for all benefits eligible KDA staff members to award outstanding work performance during each quarter of the year.

  • Recognition in February for efforts and accomplishments in the 4th Quarter (October–December) of the previous year;
  • Recognition in May for efforts and accomplishments in the 1st Quarter (January–March) of the current year;
  • Recognition in August for efforts and accomplishments in the 2nd Quarter (April–June) of the current year; and,
  • Recognition in November for efforts and accomplishments in the 3rd Quarter (July–September) of the current year.
  • Employees recognized as the Employee of the Quarter will receive a monetary award, and will have the opportunity to meet and have their photograph taken with the Governor. The amount of the award shall be a fixed amount not to exceed $1,000.
