  • Kansas Producers Participate in Trade Mission to Costa Rica

    This spring, the Kansas Department of Agriculture led a trade mission to Costa Rica to establish and strengthen relationships with Costa Rican beef producers. The KDA delegation of Billy Brown and Caitlyn Maloney was joined by Galen Fink, owner of Fink Beef Genetics in Randolph, Kansas, and project partner David Hobbs, director of activities for the American International Charolais Association.

  • KDA and Commerce Seek Participants for Trade Mission to Brazil

    The Kansas Department of Agriculture, together with the Kansas Department of Commerce, is seeking individuals to participate in a trade mission to Brazil. This mission will allow Kansas businesses who have an interest in exporting to Brazil to increase market opportunities. Travel dates are August 7-11, 2017.

  • Annual KDA Photo Contest Opens June 1

    Every day, farmers and ranchers see the beauty of agriculture surrounding them while they work to bring quality products to our tables. Document this experience by capturing the moments of bliss, struggle and joy in agriculture and enter your pictures into the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s annual photo contest. KDA will begin accepting photos on June 1. Photos will be accepted throughout the months of June and July.

    Kansas Governor Sam Brownback and Secretary of Agriculture Jackie McClaskey released a statement in response to Thursday’s announcement from the U.S. Department of Commerce that China will once again allow imports of U.S. beef.

    The Kansas Department of Agriculture is seeking individuals to participate in Petfood Forum China in Shanghai, China, from August 21-27, 2017. This conference will allow the representatives to explore export opportunities, conduct market research, and begin to establish a network of contacts to help Kansas small businesses in the pet food and pet care market.
  • KDA Grant Supports Disposal of Orphaned Pesticide

    The Kansas Department of Agriculture pesticide and fertilizer program recently received a grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Bureau of Air to aid in the disposal of orphaned pesticide products. The grant was made possible by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7. The grant extends over a two-year period for a total of $75,000.
  • KDA Seeks Participants for Beef Genetics Trade Mission to Argentina

    The Kansas Department of Agriculture is seeking individuals to participate in an agricultural trade mission to Argentina. Tentatively, the mission will take place July 24-30, 2017. The goal of this mission is to provide an opportunity for Kansas purebred beef cattle producers and allied industry to develop relationships with livestock producers in Argentina to increase market opportunities for U.S. and Kansas beef genetics.
