The Kansas Department of Agriculture has recently updated its interactive map of Kansas, showing the economic contribution of agriculture across the state. Located on the KDA website, this interactive resource can be used to find the agricultural economic facts for each of the 105 counties in Kansas, as well as a report for the entire state.

Governor Laura Kelly joined Kansas Department of Agriculture Secretary Mike Beam and Kansas Department of Commerce Secretary David Toland to visit Yoder Meats in Yoder, Kansas. Governor Kelly announced over $9 million has been committed for projects to strengthen the state’s food supply system.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture announced today that Earl Lewis has been selected to serve as the Chief Engineer for the agency’s Division of Water Resources. As the Chief Engineer, Lewis will manage the personnel and programs of KDA–DWR and administer laws related to conservation, management, use and control of water and water structures in Kansas.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture has been awarded $331,846 through the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. Funds for the program are presented by the U.S. Department of Agriculture–Agricultural Marketing Service to increase opportunities for specialty crops. KDA has selected other recipients to further utilize the funds.
