  • KDA Seeks Participants for Agricultural Trade Mission to Mexico

    The Kansas Department of Agriculture is seeking individuals to participate in an agricultural trade mission to Mexico. This mission will send Kansans who have an interest in exporting corn, distillers grains and ethanol to Mexico in an effort to increase market opportunities for Kansas farmers and agribusinesses. Tentative travel dates are March 24-30, 2017.
  • Regional Farmers’ Market Workshops Planned

    The Kansas Department of Agriculture, K-State Research and Extension and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment will host four regional workshops in February 2017 to assist farmers’ market vendors and managers.
  • KDA to Host Agribusiness Development Workshop in Russell

    The Kansas Department of Agriculture will host an Agribusiness Development Workshop on Jan. 19, 2017, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the Russell City Council Chambers, 133 W. 8th St., Russell. This workshop will provide Kansas farmers, ranchers and agribusinesses with resources, current business development and organizational contacts to assist with start-ups or expansions.
  • Kansas Students Participate in Taiwan Agricultural Youth Exchange Program

    Three Kansas students traveled to Taiwan Dec. 4-10, 2016, to represent the state as part of a long-standing student exchange program to learn about Taiwan’s agricultural industry and how Kansas agriculture exports benefit both Kansas and Taiwan. The students were selected by the Kansas Department of Agriculture based on their exceptional leadership and communication skills, appreciation for international travel and passion for Kansas agriculture.

  • Meeting Planned for Water Users in Upper Republican River Basin

    State and local water officials will host an informational meeting and discussion forum for water users and others interested in the water supply of the South Fork Republican River. The meeting will take place at 1:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at the Cheyenne County 4-H building at the fairgrounds on N. College Street, St. Francis, Kansas.
