Environmental coordination notices

ECA Certification

The Water Projects Environmental Coordination Act, K.S.A. 82a-325 to 327, requires an environmental review of Kansas water projects. Basically, this means that reviewers are given the opportunity to suggest ways that projects may be modified to minimize or mitigate impacts before a water development project is approved or permited.

This Act requires Division of Water Resources to provide seven agencies with permit applications to review and comment. These agencies receive the application for review:

  • Kansas Department of Wildlife Parks and Tourism
  • Kansas Biological Survey
  • Kansas Corporation Commission
  • Kansas State Historical Society
  • Kansas Department of Health and Environment
  • Division of Conservation
  • Kansas Forest Service
